That’s why we’re the first choice for the most exacting residences and the most visually stunning film and theatre sets. Once the surface is sound you must apply a fungicide solution, diluted with water according to the pack instructions. If you apply paint without effectively treating this problem, the paint will dry and stick to the loose dust particles instead of getting a sound adhesion to the wall. Apply it directly to the surface with a brush, and allow to dry for 24 hours before painting. It results from localised loss of adhesion, and lifting of the paint film from the underlying surface. Moisture escaping through the exterior walls is less likely to affect water-based paint, but more so with solvent-based.
Stabilising Solution
Then remove the efflorescence and all other loose material with a stiff bristle brush. Use only on dry exterior masonry that remains powdery and friable after thorough preparation. May cause damage to organs through prolonged or repeated exposure. Repeated exposure may cause skin dryness or cracking. Make sure the surfaces to be sealed are clean (no dirt or grease) and dry. Paint went on so easy and the walls look great. Ensure the damaged area is free from loose material. Apply the filler to the damaged area using a filling knife and smooth off with a wet filling knife. Apply the solution by brush to the affected areas. If it is a chalky or porous surface use a stabilising solution to seal and stabilise before painting. The higher quality your painting equipment the better your final result. Check manufactures instructions to get the correct consistency. Always check the weather forecast!
Cut in with a brush around the edges. When cutting in start at the top and work your way down. Normally two coats of paint is required on walls that haven’t been painted previously. Stabilises and binds interior and exterior friable surfaces prior to overcoating. It is touch dry in 1-2 hours and recoatable after 16-24 hours. Do not use over sealed areas or in situations where penetration is unlikely. Take care to protect plants etc., and avoid splashing any adjoining plastic fittings. One litre covers 4-6 square metres depending on the surface texture, porosity and the method of application. Spreading rate will be greatly reduced on highly textured surfaces.
